Tipton County Election Commission Meeting Notice

NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE TIPTON COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSION

The Tipton County Election Commission shall meet:
Monthly, On the 3rd. Wednesday
At 3:00 p.m.
At the Tipton County Election Commission Office

To conduct election business which comes before the commission pursuant to its duties listed in, but not limited to, TCA § 2-12-116, and to conduct any other business that may come before the election commission at that time.  Agenda will be posted on the Tipton County Election Commission website 48 hours prior to meeting.

The Tipton County Election Commission will utilize a physical Public Comment Sign-Up Sheet which will be made available 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the meeting for any person who wants to provide comment to the TCEC regarding matters that are germane to items on the agenda.  The TCEC shall allow a maximum of 6 people to speak for 3 minutes each and will take all practicable steps to ensure equal number of speakers for opposing view point, if any.

Tipton County Election Public Comment Policy

  • The period for public comment will be listed as the first item on the agenda since the new law states that the purpose of the period is to provide the public with the opportunity to comment on matters that are germane to items on the agenda.
  • The Commission shall allow a maximum of six (6) people to speak during the public comment period. The Election Commission will take all practicable steps to ensure that opposing viewpoints are represented fairly including giving each view point an equal number of speakers, if any.
  • The Commission will provide each person with a maximum of three (3) minutes to speak during the public comment period.
  • The Commission will utilize a physical sign-up sheet to be made available before the meeting begins for any person who wants to provide comments to the Election Commission. The sign-up sheet will include the name, address, topic on the agenda the speaker wishes to address, and whether the speaker is for or against the agenda item, if applicable.
