Correctional Facility Nurse Opening

Announcement is made that applications are now being accepted and competitive screening and oral interviews will be given for the part-time position of:
CORRECTIONAL FACILITY NURSE
The Facility Nurse is responsible for carrying out the orders of the medical doctor with regards to the daily medical requirements of inmates, administration of prescribed medication, and recognizing and reporting medical problems within the institution. The Facility Nurse will comply with the work schedule, rules, regulations and other responsibilities as determined by the Facility Administrator. Salary will be negotiable based on experience.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
* Be a citizen of the United States
* Be at least 21 years of age or older
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and in possession of a current license to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee.
* Has completed a minimum of one year, within the past five years, as an active nurse either in a hospital, clinic or other institution with “hands on” patient contacts. Post-graduate courses in general patient care and treatment is desirable. Prior work as a nurse in a corrections facility would be helpful.
* Must complete an oral interview board.
* Must successfully pass a drug screen and physical examination.
* Must successfully pass a background and security investigation.
* Must possess a valid Tennessee Drivers License.
* Must not have a felony conviction or a serious misdemeanor record.
* If prior military service is an issue, Applicant must not have been released or discharged from the United States Armed Forces under any conditions other than Honorable.
* Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop and lift or move light to medium weight objects.
